Jamaica Recap

Jamaica was amazing! Beautiful island, weather was 100% sunny all week and 90 degrees. Couldn't complain one bit!
I'll spare all the details because honestly, we did nothing. No really. Nothing. That was the plan. No excursions, no sports, nothing. And it was awesome. We needed an escape from all the craziness back home. Basically spent our days sunbathing, going in the water, drinking and eating! And I only gained two pounds! Woot woot!

I recommend Sandals Royal Caribbean. It's the calmer of the Sandals in JA. We went to Sandals Montego Bay resort for dinner one night and it was definitely loud and a younger crowd. Glad we chose SRC because we aren't really into the party scene anymore. And again, our vacay goal was to relax...and try to produce baby m...

Oh yeah...that didnt happen. Like clockwork AF showed up last Thursday. What a let down. I was pretty upset/angry about it as some of you know the emotional rollarcoster you go on when trying. But what could I do? I cannot control this and it sucks.

AND it seems like everyone is getting pregnant right now. SERIOUSLY...I hate all of you. No, I really don't hate you...I envy you. But my bff always says that soon it will be me announcing the news and someone else out there will feel the way I did.

So, I'm taking it realy seriously now. I'm charting my temp, checking out the CM, diligently taking the prenatals, and OV testing every morning. I should O between tomorrow and Monday but we will see. My temp has been consistent so far. I so wanted a July baby, but I'm hoping August is our month!!!

I so have babies on the brain too. Anything baby makes me so emotional. Example: I was watching A Baby Story on TLC today, I literally teared up, and no not because they had a baby but I was envisioning my delivery and how hubbs and I would react. Ugh.

This year we are hosting Turkey day at our house. I know, what are we getting ourselves into? Well, I'm excited. So hopefully with all the prep and planning, I wont have time to stress about getting pregnant. By the way, babycenter.com is my addiciion and an unhealthy one I must say. During the dreaded tww, I think EVERY little poke, cramp etc could be a sign. Well I made a pact with myself that I WILL NOT go on BC for the rest of the month.

I'm done ranting (pg) and raving (jamaica) for today....my blog skills suck so I probably wont get another post up until Turkey day...

Gotta get caught up!

Call me a blog procrastinator! I think about writing on here then somehow something else comes up. My life isn't crazy interesting but it's time to get back on the ball with this!

First things first....My birthday! I seriously have the best husband in the world, no really. My birthday was 9/18, which yay it fell on a Saturday! So the plan was to go to a winery that night with my friends and hubbs of course! So during the day, mom and I went out to do some bday shopping! I got a cute pair of heels and knee lenght boots! My mom drove and seemed like she was in a hurry so when we got back to the house, hubbs was at the door and walked me in the backyard and SURPRISE! My dad, hubbs parents/grandparents and my friends were all there! It was awesome! I was a little ticked because I had my hair pulled back and ZERO makeup on! So we grilled out I opened gifts, and hung out until it was time to go drink some wine. This place was gorgeous, we had an awesome time! We all came back to our house and all I will say is things got out of control...good out of control though, we had a pretty fun time and I paid for it dearly the next day! I have som pretty awesome friends!

The past two weekends, we've been babysitting! The first week of October, my bff and her hubbs went to Vegas for her bday/a wedding so we took her 15 month old son! We've watched her daughter before (go back a few posts) who is now three. We had a good time! Then the following weekend, we watched her oldest son who is five. He was so freaking easy!!! It def helped us see what its like at all the different ages!

Today we went pumpkin picking with my best friend and her family. It has become a tradition and I reallllly hope next year we have a little one to bring with us! It was a great day to go because it's gorgeous out! Always a fun time!

A week from today we will be sitting on the beach, sipping a cocktail enjoying the 90 degree weather in JAMAICA!!!!! OMG I cannot explain how much in need we are to have a break from life! Hubbs has been working 50/60 hours aweek and weekends have been crazy busy!

As I said before, this is our babymoon. Well, was until AF came four days early which screwed everything up from that prespective. After being pretty pissed off I decided that I'm done stressing over it. The next two weeks are free game (sorry if this is TMI) for hubbs and I. If it's meant to happen then it will for us this cycle.

Lastly - I set a goal in August that I would lose 20 lbs by the time of our trip. I have said over and over again that I would get in shape and always lost motivation to do so. Not this time. Ladies and gentlemen....to date...I've lost 16lbs!!! Woot woot! The pesky last four and I have been fighting for the past week! Even if I dont hot the actual goal I am so proud of myself! I love how i feel and look!!! I'm probably a little smaller and possibly toner then I was for our wedding too!!! No secret to how I lost: I stopped drinking soda, water mainly, green tea after dinner, smaller portions, healthier options, and I cut out snacking. And I barely drink anymore lol, which is a problem bc when I do, I am such a lightweight now.

The weight loss goal was for Jamaica but I also wanted to be in better shape for when we started trying again. Plus I just felt so gross!

Anyways - I'll leave ya with pictures! And I'll post when we get back from Jamaica!!!

M.I.A. Blogger...No Bueno!!!!!

Whoa. Hello blog, good to see you again.

Life has been anything but normal the past few months. Much to blog about very little time. Where do I begin???

The New Job: I have to admit, I was pretty intimated my first week there. It was like learning everything all over again.....and then some. But I really am paranoid by nature and always nervous I won't complete the task at hand. Turns out, after a month of training with the woman I replace (who has become such a dear friend!) I was good to go. I love that I get to actually use my brain everyday and need to solve issues rather then have the same things thrown at me everyday. I'm learning all the aspects of HR...not just the recruiting like I was in previous position. And its great to be valued and not treated like a kid.

Our FIRST Wedding Anniversary: I still can't believe it's been over a year. Our anniversary was on 7/25 so we headed up to Hubb's aunt & uncles beach house in Narragnsent RI for the weekend. This house is gorgeous, totally redone! We spent Friday and Saturday there. Friday we got in late, but enjoyed some tv and wine. Saturday we went to Crazy Burger for breakfast...funny right?? But wow the food was excellent! The biggest and fluffiest omlet I've ever seen! We headed back to the house and hung out at the beach for the remainder of the day. For dinner, we headed to Trio which was fabulous! Sunday was our actual anniversary so we left RI around 10am and made a quick stop at the outlets so I could purchase a new Coach bag =). For dinner, we headed to this awesome steak house in our town, both of us ordered Filet Mignon...mmmmmmm. After dinner, we headed home, and took out the recreated wedding cake! Lit the wedding candle and dug in! Hubbs and I just exchanged cards this year but we also had homework to do. Hubbs had to get me flowers (which he did!) and we had to write love letters to each other, but we cannot open them until our second anniversary. Overall we had an amazing first anniversary.

Tragedy: My life is never not chaotic. Oh the stories I could tell you about the things that I have been through..I choose not to because those things do not define me and they've only made me a stronger person. But on August 11th, my stepfather passed away. It was somewhat sudden. My stepfather and I weren't extremely close, lots of issues there but he was only 57 years old which is still so young. My mom of course was a mess, and still is although she doesnt show it. Another reason I love where I work...I was out from the time he went into the hospital until after the services so a little over a week and they didnt bat an eye. They were so supportive and it was nice to have that. The weeks after his passing were stressful on me because of my mom, but everyday she is doing a little better. I couldnt imagine losing my husband. I can't imagine what she is going through.

My 27th Birthday: is next SATURDAY! Ahhh another year older! We are heading up to a Vineyard for the big day and I can't wait to see all of my girls!!!I just wanted to something laid back..birthday's as you get older seem to lose their luster. I probably would have been fine doing nothing but I figure once we have kids then birthday celebrations officially stop =).

Our Babymoon Vacation: The summer has been a semi stressful time for us we definetly were looking for a break. We went to Florida in April which is always nice, but it's a fmaily trip. We wanted to go away for some "Us" time. We thought about another cruise but opted not to. Instead we are off to Jamaica, Sandals Royal Carribean for six glorious nights in October! OMG cannot wait! Why would this be babymoon? It's the week (knock on wood) that I will O'ving and the month we are picking up on trying for Baby M.

Operation Slim Down: I've lost 10 lbs and hoping to lose another 10 before this vacation. I let myself go after the wedding and the past couple months have been disgusted when stepping on the scale. I needed something to motivate me so here it is! Jamaica!

Babymakin': Like I mentioned way back in June, babymaking was hold for a few months until I get settled in the new job. Well the two of us are beyond antsy and truly hope we leave Jamaica with more then a sweet tan! My cycle is totally back to normal so I think anything to do with the Pill has completely left my body. It better, its been nine months since I've gone off it!

I think that makes me pretty much up to date with the major things going on in my life. I shall leave you with some pictures of all the fun things that happened this summer! It was a great one!!!!!!

Way to slack...

On this blog!

My days of being "umeployed" went by so fast I never had a chance to update this. Now, I am full on in the new role with new hours so the last thing I want to do is type on this thing.

Break it down for you:

Wednesday: my bff and her adorable kids came over to hang. Always fun, went up to the farm for some ice cream, took some pics with the animals
Thursday: bff's oldest grauated from pre-k, I was invited to it. Went out to eat after with them, ran a ton of errands
Friday: Errands all day, accomplished 99.8% of what I wanted to with my time off.
Saturday: errands with the hubbs, went and saw hubbs grandparents, came home and had ritas, smores, some fire and played apples to apples with Hubbs and C.
Sunday: Bff's youngest's first birthday party.

Phew.

So I started the new job on Monday, learning so much, def a little intimated but I know I will do well!

I am done for now. I will leave you with some pictures!

"Good Luck- we will miss you"

Today was my last day at the place I called my work home for the past two years. It was bittersweet, and I think I was sadder yesterday than I was today. Or it just hasn't sunk in yet. It was an uneventful day, people were coming up saying goodbye and then my orginal group (re-org split some of us up) took me out to lunch and gave me a leather pandora bracelet and two charms as a goodbye gift. I actually already have a Pandora bracelet but leather one is really nice, and its good to have more than one! More reason to buy more charms =).

I left around 3p today, thinking about how I didnt really get to say goodbye to a lot of people. It seemed like it was a busy day in general and in a way I am kind of glad because it's just the same thing recycled...'good luck, we will miss you' ..yeah but we didnt work together SO how are you going to miss me?? Whatever I am not big on the goodbyes.

So I am officially on my mini-I guess you can call it- unemployed vacay until Monday. I am pretty excited to have some time off before I start the new job. Hopefully I can blog a little bit more if I do anything worth blogging about!

It's crazy how much things have changed in a matter of a year...no make that months! If you told me this time last year that I would be moving on, I would have laughed. Then again I was in full on my wedding is in a month mode too so a new job was the last thing on my mind!

Here's some pictures from the lunch today, wish I got a few more or at least a group shot, the group is a little weird now, so many changes so maybe thats why?? But I will really miss them, they were a great group of people to work with.

I will def. miss her!!!! Ms.S and I

Tornado Warning...Weekend Wrap-Up..Oh My!

It's been disgustingly hot all weekend, and for the second day in a row we have a tornado warning. Joy. I love the summer heat but the humidity NEEDS TO GO!

Friday some of my coworkers took me out for lunch at this realllllly good Mexican restaurant. It was nice to get out with them, and of course everyone says, "we should do this more often" welllllll good thing we thought about this THREE days before I leave!!! I had a nice time and realize more and more that my last day is approaching, and I feel a little melancholy about it.

Saturday we FINALLY bought the island for the kitchen. I LOVE IT! We really lucked out with the size of the kitchen overall and it really doesn't take up too much room. So after we put everything together, we cooked out on the grill. Steak, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and huge salad! It was the first grilled steak of the season, and oh-m-gee it was tasty!!! The weather was starting to act up so we decided to make some smores quick and mmmmmm!!! My good friend T stopped over for some wine and a game of Apples-to-Apples, although its not as much fun to play with three people. Fun game, if you've never played you should!

I received all my info regarding, benefits, 401k, pension etc from the new company. And I found EXTREMELY good news...they will pay 100% for me to go back to school for my MASTERS!!! WHOO HOO!!! I am so excited!!! Yeah who really gets excited about school right??? BUT I knew that I would go back at some point because its super important to me, and for my families future.

So anyways, hopefully this week I will FINALLY get a blog post of before and afters of the kitchen. I will have some extra down time so no excuses. I'll leave ya with some pictures from the weekend!
