Sayonara Stomach Bug..HELLO Snow!

Ahhhh CARBS! I missed you! Welcome back to real food, solid food.

Okay thats all I'll say about the bug, I've sounded like a chronic complainer for the past two weeks.

Okay one more gripe...wtf with all this snow?!?! We're heading into March and I am itching for at least ONE 50 degree day.

Yesterday was our SEVEN month wedding anniversary. Lame to bring it up, but I am so about dates. On January 6th I think back to when it was our six month "dating anniversary" way back in 2004. Yes, I still think about that. I can't believe how time flew and how so much has happened in the past year. And now here we are planning for Baby M.

So in honor of our Seven Month anni, I wanted to share some pictures. Enjoy and Happy Friday!

Oh Bug in my Stomach.....

Please leave! The last two months health wise have not played in my favor. Monday night I threw together some baked ravoli which was super yummy. I felt fine so did DH. Tuesday morning I woke up, did my usual get ready for work routine and started to feel worse as the morning rolled along. I did eat some oatmeal but something didnt feel right. I knew something was really wrong when I started to dry heave. But the trooper I am, I made it into work. Bad idea. My stomach hated me all day and TMI ALERT I was in the bathroom almost every hour. I left around 3:45 and slept the rest of the afternoon/night. Wednesday morning was no better, I woke up to my belly killing me and a massive headache, so as much I hate doing it, I called out. In the long run it was probably the best thing I did since as the day progress I started to feel much better. Although I barely ate anything and had no appetite. Today I feel 90% better and my belly is doing the grumble dance so thats a great sign. I came armed with some chicken noodle soup even though I am craving STEAK or meat in general.

Yesterday was my first appointment with my new OB-GYN. I LOVE HER!!!! I was so happy I started to feel normal (appt was around 2:15p) because I didnt want to have to reschedule. We talked babies and she said I am doing all the right things and everything looks great! She did have me do bloodwork to see if I carry the CF gene. She said its very high in caucausons but the odds are very slim. If it does come back positive, then DH will need to get tested to be safe. FINGERS CROSSED on that!!!

The stomach bug has put a huge damper on baby makin this week and if my calculations are correct this is my most fertile time, so I'm a little dissapointed. Although the week is still young! And if it doesnt happen this month, we are taking a break in March. I hate to be this way but I dont want a Christmas baby or a December baby for that matter. There is just too much that goes on. Plus we are headed to Florida in April and we always have a great time with my Brother and fam and that great time includes some heavy drinking although I've pretty much gone on a drinking hiatus since we began trying. Like I say it will happen when it's supposed to happen!

Time to heat up my chicken noodle soup......

Blah

I feel fat today. And it sucks. Sorry I am a little snarky today because I feel like the gum that gets stuck to the bottom of your shoe. DH was sick for three weeks on and off and I thought I really beat it and then Sunday I woke up to a stuffy nose and sore throat and its been downhill since. Sudafed has been my nightly bff. Head colds are the worst. In my case, I am wide awake in the morning when I get them, so staying home and sleeping is not for me. I hope by this weekend I am germ free and back on my game.

On a brighter note, the house looks amazing. I am no where near an interior decorator, but I stood in the living room and just admired my fabolous work. I still feel like we have a GAZILLION things to do, but I have to keep in mind we have thirty years to do what we please with it. Up next, organizing the bedroom and basement and painting the kitchen. The kitchen really is the sore spot for me, although putting in the new countertops and new stove helped. I was trying to steer away from yellow since we did a lemony color in our apt but like DH says, "I fear change". Its a different shade of yellow, muted I guess you could call it. The cabinets will be a darker color. My life and money revolves around that house, I cant tell you the last time I bought myself clothes, shoes etc. Very unlike me!

Anyways, this sickness has turned into a sinus infection, and I feel like my head weighs about 3297420 pounds. My morning shower was disrupted by constant sneezing, so you know its going to be a bad day. Oh speaking of, I need to sneeze again.Purell, tissues, and water have become my new best work friend. I know I am such a complainer, it could be worse.

On a good note, AF left on Sunday so we have picked up on our Baby M journey again. Who knows if this will be our magic month, but we certainly arent letting a day go by without trying! TMI, but whatever, this is such an exciting, fun time and it brings us a hell of a lot closer too.

Side story: As much as DH downplays it, he is SUPER excited that we are trying. Not that it is a secret, we just dont really share unless you bring it up, but he spilled the beans to his cousin and brother last Tuesday. I was so happy that he was the one sharing the good news with family and how excited he is to tell people.

So still to early to know whats going on in my belly, if anything, but for now to keep from thinking about it all the time, my focus will be on our house!

BFN = Bye Bye October Baby

Okay so wishful thinking, but I really thought I was going to be one of those lucky women that come off the pill and get pregnant. Not so much. Last week I had crazy symptoms, cramping, extremely tired, moody etc and normally with AF I feel nothing leading up to her debut. But what even made DH think I was PG was my meltdown Friday night over the Tuna Cakes I unsuccessfully made. I don't want to get into the dirty details, but lets just say I ended up not eating dinner and in bed by 8:30pm, with DH sleeping on the couch. Not my proudest moment, but hey things happen.

So Sunday night I had some spotting, and this twinge of disappointment came over me that AF would be here Monday morning. Well Monday came and NOTHING, so my hopes were still up that maybe it was IB. After consulting with my BF I decided after work I would go to CVS and buy a test. Now, this was my first time ever doing this and why did I feel so awkward? Oh yeah it could have been the 16 year old boy who rang me out and looked at me, and at that point I made sure to make my wedding band noticeably clear for him to see. I felt like it was a total invasion of privacy, when it shouldn't be but hey next time I'll make sure I go to stop n shop self checkout style!

I didn't want DH to know I bought the test because if it was a BFP I wanted to surprise him. Of course, Monday he was home before me so I was in stealth mode trying to get into the bathroom with the test wrapped up in a t-shirt. It didn't help that he was in a chatty mood so he was basically walking around while I was in the bathroom trying to engage in convo. And here I am quietly trying to open the test without him wondering what I was doing. The test was simple, pee on the stick or pee in a cup and dip the stick in for five seconds (note: for now on I will pee in a cup first, pee on hands, not pretty!) put the cap back on and wait three minutes. I didn't want to stare at the test so I looked around looked at my phone and then at the end of the longest three minutes of my life, it was BFN. I was disappointed but still held out hope since AF wasn't technically due until Wednesday, i thought maybe there wasn't enough HcG since I peed at night and not first in the morning. I never told Matt I tested, again I want this to be a surprise for him and I am so bad at keeping things from him but this I promised myself I would.

So Tuesday came and went, I must have went into the bathroom a MILLION times to check to see and nothing, and then Wednesday came. The day AF was due, and I woke up feeling fine. So now I am really excited. BF kept trying to have me test all day and I didn't because I know my body and something told me to wait. Sure enough around 9pm AF decided to show her ugly face. And here I am no October baby to look forward to, but lucky enough to know that my cycle has stayed the same which gives me hope that we can possibly look forward to a November baby!

So my goals for the next week: buy ovulation test strips so we can be more accurate, continue to track online, and continue with the prenatal vitamins. I have my appointment with my new OB-GYN on February 24Th and I am excited to get as much input from her as possible!

Bring on Cycle #2!

First Post

I've dediced to jump on the "getting pregnant" blog bandwagon because I think it is a great way for me to record every step of the way!

My name is Sarah and I am 26 years old. I married the love of my life on July 25th 2009, the most amazing day of my life. We purchased our first home in November 2009. So you can say that 2009 was a FANTASTIC year for us.

My DH and I decided on New Years Eve (before the drinks started flowing) that I would go off the pill in January and we would start trying over the next few months. It was such a surreal moment to actually say we were both ready to do this and how much our lives could change in an instant!

That following Monday, I went to Stop & Shop and bought the Womens One a Day Prenatals to kick start things. My best friend and pregnancy advisor/advocate, told me the best time take them would be right before bed because they have the tendacy of making you sick to your stomach. So every night, the prenatals have taken the place of my ortho-tri cyclen lo and I couldnt be happier about it!

I also made an appointment with a new ob-gyn because my ob left the practice and the doc who replaced her, well we just didnt mesh. My appt is February 24th so I cant wait to discuss everything with her!

I started to eat better and cut out alocohol. I wasnt a big drinker to begin with, but I didnt want to jinx any chances of being able to concieve.

As I said previously, we said we would wait until April...well that was shortlived. The phrase we use now, is "if it happens, it happens we arent preventing it". So basically we are actively trying and throwing caution to the wind!

My P is due next week and I never thought I would say this but I CANNOT WAIT for Monday to get here!

I am trying not to get too excited because I know the chances are VERY slim to be pregnant this fast. If it's meant to happen now it will happen, if not we just keep trying until it does!
