Notice anything different?

I changed the name of my blog. Why? Because "Planning for Baby M" was sooooo boring and not to mention I feel like I've blogged more about life in general since we put babymakin on hold for a month. I thought it was catchy and this is the internet, not down for sharing the last name. If you know our last name, you'll be able to put two and two together...or at least I hope!

..oh and of course we are a little looney. Isn't everyone???

A little late....

I'm such a bad blogger...I never posted a plug yesterday! Okay, okay..in my defense it was a VERY busy day, busy at work, busy after work. Busy at work is a wonderful thing! Busy after work because my bestie, her hubbs, and her three adoreable kids came over for dinner. It was a little hectic since it was right after work, it was Monday, and the kids were having wayyyy too much fun! I wish I could go back and be that young again! Needless to say, it was so nice to be able to get together since it's tough for us to make time. Hopefully that will all change once the weather starts to get nicer and we can make it a regular thing!

Weekend - what can I say? I was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Friday night we went for a walk down to the beach. We live about five minutes away and it was such a nice night for it! Saturday we took advantage of the weather and went out and found wicker furniture for the breezeway. So we came home and put it all together cleaned up the breezeway and now it looks awesome!!! We just need to get in and decorate the walls and such but no rush!

So after we put everything together, our good friend C came over to hang out. She came armed with some beer so taking advantage of the awesome weather we hung out in the breezeway. Lets just say the beer was going down like water and we ended up making a trip out for some pizza MORE beer and then some Rum.

So in conclusion: we drank 30 beers, C has video of me thrashing out to rap music, somehow the rum bottle was being passed around between the three of us, hubbs and C ended up playing quarters, hubbs taught C all about 50 cent, and now Vegas is a planned trip for June.....

And no one really remembers how they got to bed. Overall a successful Saturday night!

I do have pictures of the evening, but I have yet to post them. That will come in another blog down the road. Here's a picture of the wicker set. We bought a rocking chair which is closest to the wall, two regular chairs (one is not pictured its on the other wall), and the center table which actually opens so we can store things in it. In the before picture, you will see this ugly green shade thing hanging, well that is in the trash. And the window sills were so filfty so we cleaned them off.

Before:

After:

Eventually I will post pictures of the before and after since we have done ALOT to it. I am so proud of all our hard work turning it into OUR house. I will also blog about our to do list as well. Maybe this afternoon or tomorrow!

REAL QUICK! Shameless Plug - BIG LOTS!!!! Why Big Lots? Well that's where we got our wicker set from and they have a ton of cool stuff! We also picked up this cool hanger thing for the wall for our keys once we paint the kitchen! I will definitely go back to Big Lots for little things that I know we will need.

That's it for now!

Blah Blah Blah Monday & Shamless Plug....

So it's Monday, we lost a hour, and the weather has been less than spectacular. Okay that's an understatement. When the Governor is walking the towns to survey "the devastation" you know it's trouble.

Lucky for us, no power outage, no tree or tree debris in our yard or cars. Just a little basement water, and when I say little, barely worth discussing. Other people I know and love were not so lucky with this storm. But fortunately most have gotten their power back on and the damage is nothing major.

Okay so we had a bunch of snow storms and now we had the "hurricane" like rain storm..bring on SPRING. Bring on 65 degree days, sunny days, no clouds. It's been a long, dreary winter.

We didnt do too much this weekend, the highlight was getting my hair done on Saturday. I went darker. Yup, like close to my roots dark. As much as I would like to be blonde again, its just not going to happen anytime soon. 1-its tedious to get my hair as light as it was 2-its expensive 3-babies plus processed hair do not go together. So I will embrace my "roots" for awhile and enjoy being on the "darker" side.

I ate way too much this weekend. I'm Irish, DH is Irish so this week could potentially be brutual with all the Irish dishes, shepards pie, corned beef, soda bread etc...so, enough with complaining about how I gained weight after the wedding. I've decided to start shredding again. So with that in mind, here's my shameless plug!

Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.

It's mean, it could be considered torture, and you just want to punch Jillian Michael's in the face half way through...BUT you get results in the matter of a week! I did the Shred when I was hardcore trying to lose weight for the wedding and I couldnt believe how I looked and felt after just the first week!!! Plus once you start you want to keep doing it! And I've never sweated as much as I did doing the shred. It was awesome!

Just be prepared for jelly legs and soreness like you wouldnt believe the next day. But it's totally worth it if you're looking for fast results and would rather work out at home then the gym!

Weekend Madness

I realized I only posted once last week, pretty weak but work was busy and not much went on...

Did you ever notice that when the weather starts to get nice, the weekends seem to be so busy?? Okay so yeah this is the first 50 degree weekend we've had but it was a busy but awesome one!

Friday night DH and I went to Mohegan for the Jay Z concert. Oh yea HUGE Jay fans! I've been dying to go to a concert for years and finally was able to get tickets. GREAT seats! So Trey Songz opened and we're both not fans but whatever. DH looked like he was about to fall asleep. So Jay FINALLY came on around 9:15p and I went NUTS!!! I was a little annoyed because he played a ton of new stuff BUT then at the "Encore" he did this awesome montage of his old stuff (going back to Reasonable Doubt, you'll know if you are a Hard Core fan!) and I lost it!! My vocal chords hated me for the rest of the night. Anyways, the concert didnt end until after 11:30! Amazing!!!! DH and I didnt stay at the casino because yeah they wanted $500 for one night, no thanks! So we ended up getting home around 1am. Totally worth it!

My BFF has shoulder surgery last Monday and she also has three children under the age of Four. With her hubs working it could get a little out of control, so she asked us if we would take her daughter, Molly for the weekend. Of course I said yes! This was another perfect opportunity for DH and I to get the expirence, since baby making is still happening. Molly is two but a good two. Acutally and amazing two.

So we picked her up around 3p, and headed for the car wash. She was a little unsure about it, its so fun to watch children and their expressions to new things. Atfer the car wash, we had dinner at Friendlys. Who doesnt love Friendly's? We headed home after and hung out, we had a little issue at bedtime but like BFF said, I fell for the crying act. Eventually all was good and Mol slept thru the night. Sunday morning we made some pancakes and headed to the park down the street. Let me tell you, she has no fear! She had DH help her in the beginning but after a few tries she did it by herself. After the park we headed home, had some lunch, Molly took a nap and before we knew it, it was time for her to go home.

Molly left around 4p and around 5p, the In Laws came over for dinner. So in between entertaining Molly, and cleaning the house, I now had to cook dinner. Dinner went well it was nice to have them over and be able to cook for them for a change.

The highlight of all of this was that BFF sent me a BBM that Molly said , "I am a good Mommy" which made my heart melt!!!! So when I told DH this in a seriouness he turned to me and said, "You are going to be a great mom"...heart melts again!

Speaking of moms and babies...AF came today. Not really shocked, but the beginning of this week my boobs were killing me, and DH thought it was funny to "pretend" to touch them. Not so much. I dont get sore boobs as a AF sign so I was HOPING this was a sign in the other direction. NOPE. But in a way I am happy that I will be able to let loose a little next month when we go to Jax to see the fam. Remember, no baby makin this month!!! So hopefully when we return from Florida it will be our time!

Anyways, I'm all blogged out...here's some pictures from the weekend!

Shamless Plug Monday!

It's that time again....

My hair is thick...REALLY REALLY thick. Which means that I cannot do a wash and air dry because the results are scary. My hair also has a natural wave which looks cute when I "scrunch" my hair but not so cute if I don't blow dry and straighten right after the shower. And on top of it all, I get it colored professionally and I've been the blondest blond to the darkest brown. Basically my hair is damaged goods. Dry, sometimes frizzy, dead ends etc...

I have tried EVERYTHING to have smooth, damage free (looking) hair. Products either make my hair look too greasy or just don't do anything because I have so much hair.

Problem solved...

My hairdresser has been using this product in my hair for awhile, and she would explain what it does but I never paid any attention to it, until last November when I realized every time I left, my hair felt smooth, light, frizz-free and HEALTHY. She told me it was called Moroccan Oil and it was a product she swore by. So then I asked her how much and she told me $50. She tried to sell me on it by saying it would last me "six months". Okay that just seemed too steep for someone who just bought a house to spend on a hair product and plus who knows? Maybe it wasn't the product but just her styling my hair that made me look so darn good when I left. So I walked out empty handed.

A few days later, I decided to check out Beauty Plus in the mall, and they had the Oil. Turns out for a whole lot CHEAPER! I bought the smaller bottle because I really still wasn't 100% convinced it was doing anything to my hair.

Boy was I wrong...

I am OBSESSED with the Moroccan Oil! It makes my hair, shiny, soft, silky and easier to style! And it seems to cut my drying time down about five minutes (which is impressive because my hair is a bitch to dry!) And, the "smaller" bottle still has more than half left and I am going on four months of use!

Another thing that turned me on to it, was the fragrance. It's not overbearing and DH always compliments how yummy my hair smells!

It's the only product I use in my hair when straightening, I don't think I will EVER try anything else!!!!

So if you're like me with thick, dry, somewhat frizzy hair, I TOTALLY recommend purchasing Moroccan Oil!

Happy Monday!!

Shameless Plug Mondays

So Monday's suck for many reasons: its the beginning of the work week, you realize you are five LONG days away from the weekend, and your slumber is interrupted to a blaring alarm at the crack of dawn...yeah Monday's are dreadful!

I decided to start "Shameless Plug" Mondays. Just something fun to start Monday off the right way. Basically just going to share a favorite website or new gadget that I am obsessed with at that moment.

My first shameless plug is the brill ant website: StillTasty.com!

If you're anything like me, you guesstimate when food is no longer edible (okay some foods you JUST know!) and I am very anal about certain foods that are in the fridge or freezer longer than a few days. StillTasty.com has thousands of foods, from meat, to snacks, to fruits and veggies and how long you can keep them until they go bad. It is AMAZING!

Did you know that dried basil leaves opened or unopened have a shelf life up to three years? Of that frozen bagels as long as they stay frozen could be eaten up to one year?

Enter jealousy....And for all those who have an IPhone, yup they have an app for StillTasty!

So go check it out, you'll be surprised on what you find out about your fave foods!
