Hump Day

Geez I feel like I am such a lame blogger lately. BUT if you realized how busy I am at work and preparing for our housewarming, personal email time is few and far between.

Hubbs birthday was Friday so we went and did Hibachi (as planned see last post) and then just hung out at home. That's where we are different. I would call all of my friends to come out and eat and drink but hubbs has never been big into the whole birthday celebrations. Which was nice this time since I am anti-booze (TTC) and it was tough to pass on those saki shots!!!! We picked up hubbs new wedding band too! Fits like a glove!

So Saturday we finally bought a grill! We purchased it from Lowes its a GrillMaster 4 burner grill. I've attached a pic below from the Lowe's website. The sales guy was trying to push a $8000 grill..equipped with a cooler and all. Sweet, but no thanks! So we got home and hubbs was hard at work putting it together. I cant believe we have gone this long without one! And this weekend is supposed to be gorgeous so I cannot wait to grill out all weekend!!!! The one thing missing is a cold beer (blah!)..

On top of all this, we have an addition to the 'Loon household. Alice the cat. Here's the story: Hubbs bro and sis in law had a cat, had to give her to my MIL so she lived there for like six or seven years. MIL moved and couldnt take Alice so gave her back to BIL and SIL. SIL has severe allergies and if no one claimed her then she would be sent to a shelter. I am a SUCKER for animals and so is Hubbs. Now mind you I have two cats, well my dad has held them hostage since I moved out a few years ago, so I felt guilty in a sense to take in another cat when I have two that I miss! But I talked to dad and he basically said that he is not giving them up (i am not complaining they are happy at his house) and that we should take her in. So...Saturday night Alice became a member of our family! She loves to cuddle, she sleeps on our bed every night, and she is just overall a good cat!

Sunday, we went to chruch and had the priest bless hubbs' new ring! He was pretty miserable without the ring on, all he would do is say how it sucks and he feels naked. My brother is still determined to find the ring and claims he will be looking this summer! It would be amazing if he found it but so cool!

So housewarming....we came up with a food list and now hopefully we can recruit some people to help out! I wanted to get the kitchen painted before, but I doubt that will happen. Hopefully we can just work on cleaning up the yard. I plan on taking a trip to Christmas Tree Shoppe (I am obssessed with their stuff!) for more chairs and just to spice up the yard! I know when to bargain shop!!!

So here's the grill:

Happy Birthday...

To my amazing husband! We've shared many birthdays together, this one being so special since it is the first as husband and wife. And I finally get to buy him a Husband Birthday card whoo hoo!

What's on the agenda? Very low key, Hibachi for dinner and probably home to watch the GI Joe movie. But he wouldn't have it any other way! I just wanted to share some of my favorites pictures of us during the last almost seven years together in honor of him turning the big 2-8! Love you babe!

Okay I went a little overboard, but it's one of my favorite days out of the year! Awww xo. And you all get to see my ever changing hair color ha!

I'm Back!

We had an excellent time on our trip down to Jacksonville. Although I have to put myself on a food/booze detox. Whoa. So what did we do besides eat and drink? We went on a field trip with my younger nephew to the zoo, went on my bro's boat a bunch of times, and got some well deserved rest!

Unfortunately, hubbs lost his wedding band on our trip. Yup. Nine months deep and already gone. We were on the boat and hubbs took off his ring to put on sunscreen (I swear the only time he EVER takes off his ring) and put it in his hat so he would remember where it was. Well, he forgot, flipped his hat up and all we heard next was..ting, ting, plop in the water! As I am sipping my corona, I asked, 'what was that?" and all hubbs replied was, "you know what it was". Oh man if looks could kill...so hubbs searched around the boat but no luck. My brother even considered calling a diver but the ring was gone. As this is all going on, my sis in law fixed me a nice strong drink to ease the pain. We wanted to try to get another ring while we down in Jax, bless it, then renew our vows at sea (captains can do it, ahem my bro) but we couldn't find a ring at a decent price and in Hubbs size.

Besides the ring dramz, it was overall a great time. Glad to be home and back into the old routine.

I took today off to clean, do laundry, and grocery shop. Oh and get hubbs a new ring, and I did! AND we pick it up tonight!!!! I know I am the best wife ever haha.

In other news, I started the ovulation test strips last night! Woot woot, not ovulating YET, but we arent waiting for the test to say try. Plus we were sexy-timeless since last WEDNESDAY, so you know we were ready to go last night (sorry TMI). I hope hope hope this month is it!

Hubbs birthday is FRIDAY...his gift? His new and improved wedding band hahah. And hibachi for dinner!

So back to work tomorrow, it's going to be a busy day/rest of the week. Here are some pics from our trip!

For my Aunt...

Who makes the best potatoes ever! She made them for Easter and OH-M-GEE! They are soooooo yummmmy!

Backstory: every year we would go up to her house for Christmas Day dinner. And one year she started making these heavenly (probably horrible for you) potatoes. I fell in love, so every Christmas it was basically expected that they would be there. I mean this is a once a year treat so it definetly gives you something to look forward to. Well as the years went on and as we all got older, the potoates werent expected to be at dinner. Which I am sure my waistline was happy about.

So this year, I was informed she would be making them for Easter dinner and I made sure we made the trip to her house!

When hubbs finally tried one, since I hyped these suckers up for years, his response was, "These are deadly." Yes they truly are!

Shame on me!

For not keeping you up to date with my life! But I have had literally zero time to write on here since whenever my last post was.

Work has been busy busy busy which I love. I actually went to a local high school and gave a career day presentation yesterday, and the day before that I worked out of a different location. I love it, I love not having a routine at work, it keeps it fun and I learn more each day!

Hubbs and I are also getting ready to leave for Florida on Wednesday! WHOO HOO! My brother, sis in law, and two adoreable newphews reside in Jacksonville so every year we visit them. We always have a great time and its nice to be able to get away like this every year.

So I am trying to tie up any loose ends at work and also at home so that way we dont come back the following week to a disaster. I hate feeling overwhemled when I get back from vacation!!!

In other news....it's April which means bring on the birthdays! This Sunday is my besties sons 5th birthday party, so we will be there. Always a good time! Monday is his bday, my dads, one of hubbs brothers bdays, and my friend G's bday. Phew. So it's a busy day!!!

I know I totally missed the shameless plug on Monday so I am not even going to try to make up for it right now. So this may be the last time I write until we return from vacay, but you can expect a ridiciously long post for that one!

If you live in the CT area, I hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather!!!!!!
